The celebrations commenced with the observance of the International Day of Yoga 2026 under the global theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," underscoring the significance of embracing healthy lifestyles, preventive healthcare, and fostering physical vitality, mental clarity, and emotional well-being at every stage of life. The ceremony was further enriched by a special video message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reaffirmed yoga's universal appeal and its enduring role as a pathway to holistic health, inner harmony, and sustainable well-being.

Addressing the distinguished gathering, Consul General of India Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri highlighted yoga as one of India's greatest gifts to the world, noting that what originated as an ancient Indian discipline has today evolved into a universally embraced practice, transcending national boundaries, cultures, and generations. He observed that initiatives such as "India: Wellness & Flavours" not only celebrate India's rich civilisational heritage but also serve as powerful platforms for deepening the longstanding cultural and economic ties between India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Emphasising the essence of this year's theme, the Consul General remarked, "We all aspire to live longer, but the true objective is to lead lives enriched by good health, vitality, mental clarity, and emotional balance." He further lauded the Saudi Yoga Committee for its dedicated efforts in promoting yoga across the Kingdom and for playing a pivotal role in expanding awareness of its profound physical, mental, and spiritual benefits among people from all walks of life.

Adding an artistic dimension to the celebrations, Athulya Abeesh captivated the audience with an elegant "Yoga Natyam" performance, harmoniously blending classical dance with yogic movements. To make yoga more accessible, specially designed indoor sessions for beginners, led by experienced instructors, were conducted, attracting enthusiastic participation from children, adults, and senior citizens alike.

Complementing the wellness celebrations, the Mango Trail emerged as one of the festival's most captivating attractions, offering guests a delectable journey through India's celebrated mango heritage. Showcasing an array of premium mango varieties from northern India, including the succulent Chausa, flavourful Amrapali, and aromatic Mallika, the exhibition highlighted the remarkable diversity and excellence of India's horticultural wealth. The culinary experience was equally irresistible, presenting an indulgent array of mouth-watering mango delicacies designed to captivate every palate.
